Jan van Eyck Biografie
Jan van Eyck was an important Flemish painter. It is believed he was born in 1385 -1390 in Maaseyck, where Limburg region of the Netherlands near the German border. Also it is believed his names last letters took from the Maaseyck city. The painter started working with Count of Holland at La Haye, in October 24, 1422. He worked with him until The Count died in January 5, 1425.
A Few months later he appointed to chamberlain for Duke of Bourgogne. He did a lot of diplomatic trip for Duke. He drew a painting fiancee of Philippe when he was travelling to Portugal in 1428-29. In these years he stayed in Lile, Hesdin Chateau. Then he moved in Brugges and bought a house there in 1432. He lived here until he died in July 9, 1441.
He was getting popular with his working on Mystic Altar of Lamb in the Saint Bavon(Gand) Church were opened in 1432. He married in 1433. In this year also he had his first son. In these times he was getting more popular his homeland and others countries. He was beginning to sign his work after in 1432. 9 working which done by Jan van Eyck is can see at the moment. Eyck was signed his working like a document. He signed at the mirror “Jan Can Eyck was here” in The Arnolfini Wedding painting. We can understand that from this signature, Eyck did a painting as a certificate of matrimony in the nature.
Van Eyck had some abilities and he showed that in his painting. Most important ability of him that he displayed in his paninting poetic aspect of the World, light and organic reality in space. He tried different technichs in his painting. Many Flemish painters benefited these.

We are taking diffrent information about Jan from later years. Vasari (1550) mentioned to Jan van Eyck “The person who discovered The Technique of tube colours” but Actually this technique was befero of him. He was just master of this technique.
After he died in 1441 his reputation spread to Europe as “Kings of The Painters.” Best followers of him was a Flemish painter Johannes Vermeer. Johannes Vermeer was under an obligation to him. Van Eyck donated this feeling to painters why they are too important person and why they must. He declared himself in his working like “Jan Van Eyck did too me” We haven’t got too much information about him. But he showing us that how he is feeling himself important for art.
